Creating simple titles
The best way to learn about title features in Pinnacle Studio is to create a title from scratch.
To create a simple title
1 In the Timeline, ensure that you have a track for your titles. By default, titles are created with transparent backgrounds so that they can be added as an overlay in a track above the main media tracks.
2 In the Timeline, position the scrubber (playhead) at the timecode where you want to insert a title.
3 Click the
Title button
on the Timeline toolbar.
A default title clip (3 second duration) is added to the Timeline and the Title panel displays.
4 In the Title panel, type your title text in the Text Settings text field.
If you want to preview the title text, in the Timeline, ensure that the scrubber is positioned over the title clip.
5 Apply any of the formatting options in the Text Settings area to customize the font or alignment of the text.
6 In the Look Settings area, choose a Fill color from the color selector, and click the Apply button.
Other options include adding outline (Edge) or drop shadow/glow (Shadow) properties. For more information, see
Look settings. You can also add a background to your title. For more information see
Background settings.
7 Click Motion at the top of the panel, and do one of the following:
• In the Position area, change the settings to reposition the text.
• In the Player panel, click the text box to select it, position your pointer over the edge of the box to display the move icon, and drag the text to the position you want.
Other options include setting the motion for the individual lines, words, or letters in your title, including
Rotation and
Opacity settings. For more information, see
Title Motion.
